The Opportunity

 

We are looking for a Senior Advisor – Communications to serve as an integral member of the Communications and Communities and Social Performance team.  The Senior Advisor will be responsible for the strategic development and successful implementation of the Project’s communications strategy and for directly managing communications activities that define, promote and enhance the project’s brand identity. This position also requires a communications and media savvy individual with the proven ability to strategize and implement a strong, cohesive communications plan. 

 

What the role entails

 

This role is a great opportunity to drive communications for a multinational corporation in a collaborative environment.  Reporting to the Manager – Communities and Social Performance, you will be:

 

•Develop and implement a cohesive and integrated strategic communications plan

•Work with the leadership team to develop internal and external communications opportunities

•Develop programs and priorities to increase the visibility of the mining project

•Support communications of the Communities and Social Performance agenda

•Assume responsibility of internal and external messages

•Develop and implement internal corporate-wide processes to communicate

•Develop and leverage strong relationships with local and regional media outlets

•Support a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

 

What you will need for this role

 

To succeed in this role, you will have:

 

•5+ years corporate communications experience

•Proven ability to define, develop, and implement a cohesive, integrated communications strategy

•A media savvy communications expert

•Advanced knowledge of managing communications across a broad range of media platforms, including working with the press, and all digital media communications.

•Track record of developing meaningful programs and action plans

•A team-oriented, results-driven, and collaborative individual

•Strong communication skills, both written and orally; know how to structure thoughts concisely.

•Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or related discipline

 

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Advanced degree, including MBA

  • Know-how to network in matrixed organizations
