The Opportunity


We are looking for an Underground Shaft Technician for the Resolution Copper Underground Operations and Maintenance Group, which is responsible for the safe maintenance and operation of the existing physical assets, consisting of a deep shaft, multiple mine levels and associated equipment and infrastructure.


What the role entails


This role is a great opportunity to be involved in the application of effective whole-of-life asset management practices to achieve ongoing safe maintenance and operation of existing physical assets. Reporting to the Underground Operations & Services Supervisor, you will be:

  • Performing repair, inspection and maintenance activities associated with the shaft infrastructure

  • Performing repair, inspection and maintenance activities associated with the hoisting system

  • Slinging & rigging equipment in and out of the shaft

  • Operating a mobile crane for hoist system maintenance activities, shaft logistics and truck loading/unloading

What you will need for this role


To succeed in this role, you will have:   

  • Two years underground operations and maintenance experience

  • Two years shaft operations experience

  • Mobile crane operator certification or willing to obtain one within 12 months

  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels 

It will also be beneficial if you have:   

  • Rigger Certification

  • MSHA underground mine rescue qualification
